Christ-Centered Resources Help your family thrive for generations
If you could look sixty years into the future where a gathering of your family was taking place, what would you like to see? Family unity, individuals living meaningful, fulfilled lives, happily engaged in their churches and their communities?
That’s a powerful thought exercise. We have shared it with people around the world, and the one thing we never hear is people saying they hope their ‘future’ family will ride to the gathering in a chauffeured limousine. In fact, in the hundreds of responses we have received to this exercise, we have never heard anyone say they hope their family will be enormously wealthy. Instead, they talk about the faith, love, interconnectedness and other positive values they hope their family is living by.
‘Family’ Stewardship is the key to that kind of future
When most Christians hear the term ‘stewardship’ they tend to think about financial matters; things like wise management of assets, paying off debt, and living within their means. Financial stewardship is important. But, there is an even more important kind of stewardship that we are called to advance, and it is not something that is widely taught in the church. That is Family Stewardship, the Christ-centered process by which we educate our children and grandchildren about our values, life lessons, and the unique traits and characteristics that define us as a family.
Nothing is more important
Family stewardship has never been more important. In part that is because throughout history, nine out of ten of families have lost their family unity and their assets across as little as three generations. That 90% failure rate includes both families of faith and those who do not practice any faith. (You may not have heard this statistic before. You can get additional background here.)
Helping families to get stronger–and to stay that way
Family Stewardship coaching provides a Christ-Centered foundation upon which families can build a multi-generational legacy of unity, strengthened faith and individual and family achievement. It is based on decades of research, and has helped thousands of families. Is coaching right for you? That depends: how did you answer the question at the top of this page?
What would you like to see happening in your family one, two, or even three generations from now? And, what are you doing to make sure that vision comes to pass?
